Hey everybody! Here is a preview of a new book we will be premiering at the Mid Ohio Comicon (Nov 6-7, 2010) in Columbus, OH. It is an all ages book that is kind of a mix between Sailor Moon and Godzilla...SUPER FUN!!!! For anyone wondering where Radio Free Gahanna #2 is, I'll be working on it after this comes out. Kids are for some reason drawn to our booth at shows, so we wanted to make something to sell to them as well as their parents. In the future we will be periodically releasing some all ages one shots inspired by things we loved as kids. (to be honest, we still love them.) Regardless, if you like the preview, please stop by our table at any convention and pick one up, or order one on the soon to be live (by Mid Ohio...I SWEAR!) website.

Hey everybody!
Long time no type. I'm here to inform you that I have a piece in the Cinematic Redux show! If you live in or near Cleveland (actually Lakewood) Ohio, you should go to the opening on Aug 7th from 6-9pm. I'll be there, other artists will be there..............I'll be there.......

But seriously It is going to be a cool show. All of the artists are re-doing classic movie posters. I did the 60's Batman movie.

After the show there is an after party next door and a nearby theater is showing Pulp Fiction. It should be a really good time.

So please come out and check out the badass art.
I will post a photo of my painting after the show for anyone that cannot make it.

So I have a ton of drawings that I do sitting here at work on scrap paper and I just have a pile of them sitting there. So, I have decided to compile them into groups (maybe specific groups, maybe not) and post one sheet a week. Some are doodles, some are ideas being worked out, some are for future projects and some are....well they just are. They're fun. So enjoy!

So, the first session is over and here is where we stand.

There has been some modification to the design so that it could actually be put on my arm. We decided to simplify the panels to give it more of a "classic spidey" look to it. So getting the stencil on took a lot longer than we thought, but we totally got it right. Now the left hand should be easier.

Next week we add additional line weights to this hand and do the outlines to the left hand.
Then we wait about 4 weeks (the palms hurt like hell to get done and take longer to heal) and then move on to color. Exciting!

I drew this to try and win a Joe Ledbetter VTN Exclusive MONO SMASH figure on a podcast I watch called Toy Break. (www.toybreak.com) It isn't a "who drew the best piece" contest, just random, but to be considered you had to draw the SMASH character. I sure hope luck is on my side 'cause that is a sweet toy.

In the post below I said that I would be posting more, getting back on track, etc... yada, yadda, yadda, blah, blah, blah. I have dropped the ball on the drawing of the day postings and that sucks. Life has been nuts since I last posted anything. I got a new job, my grandma died, I got a new car, etc... But here I am back at it. I cannot do the drawing of the day again just yet but I will in a few weeks.

Next week we are going to Disney World and I have a little project I may be working on while I am there (not for Disney, just for myself), so ther is that.

I will also start posting sketches for a new comic book that I am going to be illustrating as soon as I figure out what everyone looks like.

So there is my update, I will be posting some other stuff I have been doing since I last posted as well. I hope you enjoy what is to come.

Joel here! I just wanted to say that I have created this blog for three reasons.
1. To post stuff that I am working on.
2. To post web comics that will be coming sooner or later.
3. To participate in a sketch-a-day challenge that a bunch of my friends are doing.
